Pricing

Commissioning and software integration costs are estimated and actual time and costs will be billed accordingly.

Blue Ion LX Unloading Guidelines

The Blue Ion LX Energy Storage System contains batteries and tall metal enclosures, both of which can be cumbersome to unload. This document provides unloading recommendations to provide a safe unloading experience for you and your team.

Batteries

Classification

  • The Blue Ion LX utilizes 2kWh Lithium Ion batteries
  • These are categorized as Hazardous Goods under Title 49 of The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR 49), Hazardous Materials under the International Air Transport Association Dangerous goods Regulations (IATA) and the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG)
  • UN Number: UN3480
  • Proper Shipping Name: Lithium Ion Batteries
  • Each battery weighs 29 kg / ~ 65 lbs.
  • Batteries are shipped with their Orange Safety Plug removed to avoid the risk of short circuiting

Shipment Packaging

Double Stacked unit with 24 total batteries: 44” x 44” x 77” @ 1,594 lbs.
  • 12 Batteries fit on one pallet and two pallets are stacked together and wrapped as one unit during shipping
  • 1 Pallet of 12 batteries: 44” x 44” x 37” @ 800 lbs.
  • 1 Double Stacked unit with 24 total batteries: 44” x 44” x 77” @ 1,594 lbs. (pictured)
  • The pallets have room for a pallet jack on all four sides

Blue Ion LX Enclosures

  • The Blue Ion LX Enclosures are shipped on wooden pallets with dimensions of: 48” x 40” x 80” @ 490 Lbs.
  • A shockwatch is attached to the outside of the box and will indicate if there was shifting during transit. If there are signs of shifting please note this on the BOL. Do not refuse the shipment, we will arrange a solution with you after delivery. Please email us a copy of the BOL.
  • The pallets have room for a pallet jack on only two sides.
  • This requires us to load the truck in a specific way to allow for unloading at sites without a loading dock. This will also reduce the number of Enclosures we can fit into a 53’ trailer from 30 to 26.

Unloading Guidelines

  • These pallets are 77” and 80” tall and must be moved carefully to avoid tipping.
  • The ideal unloading for the batteries and LX enclosures is by forklift at an unloading dock and by a trained forklift driver and knowledgeable unloading crews.
  • If a dock is unavailable, the next best option is to use a forklift and pallet jack.
  • Use the forklift to unload the pallets that can be reached at the back of the truck.
  • Use the pallet jack to carefully move the pallets to the back of the trailer so they can be unloaded with the forklift.
  • If a forklift is not available and a liftgate on the back of a delivery truck must be used, then extra care must be taken to avoid tipping. Keep in mind that each double stacked pallet of batteries weighs 1,540 Pounds and is Six and A Half Feet Tall.
